In an exciting development, the Night Safari has just unveiled its latest addition - a brand-new amphitheatre as part of the Mandai Rejuvenation Project to enhance Singapore’s wildlife precinct. Visitors of the world’s first nocturnal wildlife park can now enjoy a fully sheltered 1,000-seat amphitheatre and be mesmerised by the Night Safari’s iconic presentations no matter the weather.

Inspired by the tropical landscape, the ADAS® Tensile Membrane structure of the amphitheatre features a natural curvature that blends in seamlessly with the green hilly terrains of Mandai. The sleek tensile membrane structure was designed and engineered by the ADAS team using architectural steel framing and high-tech PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) material, providing a durable and lightweight solution that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The lightweight and columns-free design offers an unobstructed view of the show stage framed by branching structures, while the high crest of the canopy creates an open and airy atmosphere.

Throughout the project, the ADAS team was dedicated to creating a facility that is sensitive to the natural behaviour of the animals, while also taking into consideration audience comfort, animal welfare, and operation of the Night Safari facilities. Additionally, the amphitheatre was also thoughtfully designed to integrate advanced technologies such as an LED wall, surround sound, and lighting system, as well as water features and thematic trees, to create an immersive experience for visitors.

Further into the construction phase, our experienced project team also attentively executed the site construction in a timely and safe manner, overcoming restrictive site constraints and limitations due to the ongoing park operations.

In collaboration with the team of project consultants and the Night Safari operators, the ADAS project team successfully delivered a state-of-the-art facility that is both functional and beautiful. With our ADAS® Tensile Membrane as a stunning backdrop, we are thrilled to welcome visitors to the new amphitheatre for an unforgettable Creatures of the Night experience.

P.S.: No animals were harmed in the execution of this project.
