The client, Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura, required a membrane tension structure shade which was water-tight and aesthetically pleasing for the new modern generation mosque designed by Park Associates Architects.

Bearing these requirements in mind, Multimedia Engineering created a membrane tension structure using Pure Teflon (Tenara) fabric, a material that provides the aesthetics, functionality and durability needed for lasting appeal.

Unlike other building textiles that rely on heavy opaque coatings to protect the inner fabric, the structural component of Pure Tenara is UV resistant, chemically inert and unaffected by environmental stress. This unique, waterproof fabric will not crack under the strain of repeated folding and flexing - adding years to the life of structures requiring retraction, deployment or constant exposure to harsh climates.
